The Basics About This Device

Once again Kamry has developed a product which physically stands out amongst HnB devices. Kamry GXG, which is an integrated device that can be used consecutively, looks quite similar to a vape pen. One of our test users also noted that it reminded her of an IQOS holder.

The GXG Push device is a long cylindrical shape, measuring 132 mm in length and 48 mm circumference. Unlike our last Kamry review of KeCig 4.0, the GXG Push does not offer temperature adjustment nor a self-cleaning function. It is unfortunate that these unique features are not offered, however for the price of the device, it is understandable why they are not. The GXG Push retails for only $17USD! making it one of, if not the, most affordable HnB device on the market.

The GXG Push device comes in two colors; black or white.

Product Unboxing and First Use

The Kamry GXG Push will arrive in a sleek white box that contains the device, a product manual, a warranty, cotton swabs for cleaning, and a Micro USB charging cord. Unfortunately, the kit does not include a USB wall adaptor.

Usually, once you’ve unboxed your device, the first thing you want to do is check it’s charge. The GXG doesn’t actually have a feature where you can do that so, we recommend plugging it in and charging anyways so that you can be confident that you have a full charge when you next use it. To do so, just connect the USB cable to the USB port, located on the bottom of the device. A red LED light will appear next to the USB port to indicate that the device is not at full charge. Once it is fully charged the light will turn off and it will be ready to use.

It is important to note that some content for GXG Push claim that the LED light will change color when charging to indicate charge percentage. An infographic on the AliExpress store we purchased from said “The LED light will keep going on when charging. The light is red when it is below 3.8V, the light is white when it is 3.8V-4.05V, and the light is green when it is above 4.05V. The LED light will be off when the device is full charged” We did not experience this. Our device’s light stayed red until fully charged, and then turned off.

Unlike most HnB devices, the Kamry GXG Push has a control ON/OFF switch instead of a control button. Just flip the switch up to the ‘ON’ side to turn on. At first the LED light around the switch will turn green for one second, then the light will begin to flash white for approximately 12 seconds while the device heats. When the LED light turns solid, the device is ready to use.

The manual states that a cycle will last for 3.5 minutes, but our test users found that it only lasted 3 minutes and 14 seconds when you don’t count the time it takes to heat up. Officially, GXG Push offers 10 consecutive cycles, but, on average, our test users got 14. After that the device needs to be charged again.

A feature we wish was included on this device is a vibration at the end of the cycle notifying you that it is over. GXG Push does not do this. Instead, the LED light around the control switch simple turns off. You then must manually flip the switch back to ‘OFF,’ although we found that there was no difference in performance whether you flipped the switch right after your last cycle ended or right before the new one begins.

When you want to get rid of your used HeatStick you must remove the cap from it’s locked-in position and then pull the HeatStick out of the cap. This protects the heating blade from damage. Push the cap back down once the HeatStick is removed.

Testing & Day to Day Use

As a general rule, it is best to clean your HnB device regularly. We recommend cleaning GXG Push once a week. As mentioned above this device does not have a self cleaning feature, meaning that you must use the cleaning sticks which are provided in your kit.

To clean, wait until the device is cool then remove the cap by pulling up. Once you’ve removed the cap, you can also pull up on the metal protective case that goes around the blade. Then gently, clean the blade and surrounding area with a cleaning stick. You’ll also want to clean the inner rim of the metal protective case with the cleaning stick and carefully tap on it until the loosened residue falls out.

Investing in a Kamry Device

The device is made by Shenzhen Kamry Technology Co. Ltd., a company founded in 2007, at that time under the name Fly Smoker Technology (HK) Co. Ltd. The company specializes not only in Heat-Not-Burn, but also electronic cigarettes.

As for Kamry GXG Push, itself, our team does think that there are better devices on the market than this one. Even other Kamry devices, such as the KeCig 4.0, was preferred over GXG Push. The GXG Push device is no longer being promoted on Kamry’s official website which makes us wonder, if they, too, believe they have stronger devices in terms of quality, design, and performance, and wish to focus on those instead. Nevertheless, most user reviews for GXG Push are positive, often rating at 5/5 stars or close to. Moreover, this device is one of the cheapest in terms of retail cost. If affordability is a top priority when purchasing HnB devices, this one can’t be beat!

HeatSticks Overview

The Kamry brand does not product their own HeatSticks. Instead, their devices are designed to work with other branded HeatSticks, such as HEETS or Marlboro for IQOS.

Tips and Tricks

  • Our Heat180 team found that the GXG Push device gets VERY hot to the touch on the outside of the device. Please be careful when handling. Also ensure that when the device has time to cool before throwing it into a bag or putting it in a pocket. This is particularly important as the device does not have a cap or cover to stop small items, pieces of fabric, etc. from getting into the HeatSticks heating chamber and touching the hot blade.

Warranty

All Kamry kits contain a warranty card which promises a 7-day money back guarantee from the date you received the device and a 3 month replacement for the kit, battery, and/or mod.

To take advantage of the 7-day money back guarantee you must return the device in its original packaging to the manufacturer. The warranty does not answer whether the seller will incur the cost of return shipping or whether that’s left to the customer. There was no return postage included in our Kamry parcel or kit, so we here at Heat180 would bet that the cost of return shipping is probably not covered.

For the 3 month replacement warranty, you can keep the device so long as you send the: 1. Order Number, 2. Product Description (e.g. name and model), and 3. photo or video evidence of the damage or technical difficulty.
