WOULD WE RECOMMEND?

Avbad Axis+ is a basic device. It does have some useful features, like temperature adjustment and automatic-cleaning. It also offers standby state and active states that control usage and automatic-cleaning. Axis+ is not the most powerful device – it only gets 14 continuous cycles – so we would recommend this as a backup device rather than your primary. For $32USD it’s certainly reasonable. We’d recommend using this as a backup device.

FEATURES: Standby and active mode, temperature adjustment, automatic-cleaning feature.

QUALITY: Feels quite light and a bit fragile. The blade seems durable though.

DESIGN: It’s unique for sure, but I have a feeling this is one of those love it or hate it designs.

UNBOXING

In your Avbad Axis+ kit you will find; the device, the manual, a Quality Control Card, a USB cable, cleaning sticks, and elastics (purpose unknown).

As always we recommend checking the battery status before using the device. To do this you must be in active state. It is a bit difficult to tell when you are in active state vs. standby state. We recommend clicking the control button once to check. If the LED light does not light up, then you are in standby state. To get to active state click the control button 5 times. Now try clicking the control button once to check temperature. When you’re in active state the light will light up. The color the lights indicates what level of charge is remaining. Green means that 100%-60% charge is remaining, blue means 60%-30%, red is less than 30%. If you find that your device needs charging just connect it to a power source via the USB cable. Charging takes approximately 1 hour, 25 minutes.

HOW TO USE

Once your device is fully charged you can begin using it. Axis+ has a standby and an active state. In standby state you can change the temperature. In active state you can use the device and the self-cleaning feature. Just follow the steps below to get started;

1. To change temperature device must be in standby state, click control button 3 times
   • 1 light = low temperature
   • 2 lights = medium temperature
   • 3 lights = high temperature
2. To use, switch to active state by clicking control button 5 times
3. Insert HeatStick
4. Press and hold control button
5. Device will vibrate and light flashes blue when heating
   • Heating takes approximately 15 seconds
6. Device will vibrate and light turns solid blue when ready to use
   • Cycle lasts 4 minutes, 18 seconds
7. Device will vibrate and light flashes green when it powers off
8. Remove HeatStick by taking the whole cap off the device

You can use Axis+ up to 14 times continuously. If you want another cycle, or if you want to use the self-cleaning feature, keep the device in active state. If you are done with your device, put it in standby mode.

As we mentioned above, Axis+ has an automatic-cleaning feature. To use it, make sure the device is in active state. When it is, click the control button 3 times fast. The LED light will begin flashing red and green to show that cleaning has started. Cleaning will last approximately 30 seconds.

You’ll also want to manually clean your device. The manufacturer recommends every 3-5 HeatSticks. To do so, remove the cap and insert a cleaning stick into the heating chamber. Gently wipe around the blade. Replace the cap when done.

HEATSTICKS OVERVIEW

The Avbad brand does not produce their own HeatSticks. Instead, their devices are designed to work with other branded HeatSticks, such as HEETS and Marlboro for IQOS HeatSticks.
