Japan Tobacco Releases 2019 Earnings
On February 06, 2020, Japan Tobacco (JT), the maker of Ploom, released the company’s 2019 earnings.
The report states that from 2018 to 2019 company revenue decreased by 1.8%. Operating profit also decreased by 11.1%.
Included in the report is the forcasts for the 2020 fiscal year, which predict that by the end of the year revenue will increase to 0.2% and operating profit will increase to -6.2%.
Japan Tobacco outlines their 2020 business plan, called the “4S Model,” in the report. In the 4S Model consumers are placed at the centre as they will drive profit. Shareholders’, employees’, and the societal interests are then placed around the consumers. It is hoped that by using the 4S Model, Japan Tobacco will reach their 2020 fiscal goals.
